Joshua Hornsby is a junior at SAGU American Indian College majoring in Church Leadership. Josh believes his experience at SAGU AIC has helped develop him as a person. He says, “SAGU AIC has taught me how to talk with people, improved my studies, strengthened my spiritual life, and developed my independence. Overall I’ve matured and have had a good experience.” Josh believes that being able to build relationships with faculty, staff, and other students has been a significant part of his time at SAGU AIC. His favorite thing to do on campus is watch movies in the Cree Student Union (CSU). One of his favorite activities in Phoenix is going to Dave and Buster’s.

Josh chose the Church Leadership program because he wanted to pursue a 4-year degree that would help him understand the Bible more. “It will help me preach, teach, speak of my faith, and defend it,” says Josh. He wants to pursue acting in Christian film and create something different than what Christian film is currently perceived as. SAGU AIC has been a central part of his journey: “When you’re in a larger school, sometimes you get lost. Here you’re going to know everyone or know of everyone. Everyone here cares for you and wants the best for you. It’s inexpensive and you will make awesome friends here. Whenever you need help with anything, there’s always someone to meet you there.” Josh plans to finish his studies at SAGU AIC in 2023.
