Financial Aid

Making sense of the dollars

Our Office of Student Financial Aid is committed to helping every student acquire the funding they need to attend AIC. We offer a number of need-based and merit-based financial aid opportunities, including government grants, college scholarships, loans and work study programs to help each student achieve his or her educational goals.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

In order to apply for Federal and State financial aid, you must fill out the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

FAFSA IRS Data Retrieval Tutorial

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) gathers information about your family’s financial resources.

How to Create Your Federal FAFSA FSA ID

Once you’ve submitted your application, the federal aid processing center uses a congressionally mandated formula to determine your expected family contribution (EFC).  EFC is the amount you and your family are expected to contribution toward college expenses in a given year.

Our School Code

Be sure to include SAGU’s Federal School Code, 003616, on your FAFSA.

What do I do after I submit my FAFSA?

SAGU will receive your FAFSA within two business days after you submit it.  Sometimes the FAFSA will require SAGU to collect documents from you so we can verify that your FAFSA information is correct and to determine your eligibility for federal student aid.  Make sure to turn in any required documents ASAP.  You can find needed documents on our forms page.  After all required forms are received, the Financial Aid will award your financial aid based upon your Cost of Attendance and financial need.

What is Included in the Cost of Attendance?

The Department of Education requires that each university prepare 9-month cost of attendance budgets based on average costs of its students living at home with parents, on-campus housing, and off-campus housing. These cost of attendance budgets are adjusted depending on the number of semesters enrolled and the enrollment status (full time, 3/4 time, 1/2 time and less than 1/2 time).
