Note for Internal Hires
Staff personnel must be employed with the university for at least one year before applying for an open position. Salary Range
$30,000 to $40,000 per year

Position Overview
The Director of Institutional & Student Services position operates in several departments including Registration, Financial Aid, Student Billing, HR, and Student Workers. This position communicates between departments and campuses. Provides excellent customer service to all students enrolled at SAGU American Indian College as it relates to registration, financial aid, HR, and student billing. Oversees the Student Worker program as it relates to budget and staffing needs.
Responsibilities
The Director of Institutional & Student Services:
• Upholds and follows the most up to date catalog of SAGU AIC.
• Edits and update catalog yearly with the VP (SAGU AIC) Dean of the College.
• Registers new and returning students.
• Updates student schedules when changes are requested by student or there is a change in the master course schedule.
• Creates SAGU AIC campus semester schedules in collaboration with the VP (SAGU AIC) Dean of the College.
• Sends completed schedule and schedule changes to SAGU’s Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Academic services.
• Reviews timesheets for staff and office student worker.
• Sends out completed schedules to pertinent personnel and staff.
• Reports ongoing numbers of officially registered student to pertinent staff/faculty.
• Communicates with tribal offices concerning visits to campus or scholarship deadlines.
• Discusses new student worker budgets with President of SAGU AIC.
• Reports scholarship information to the Director of Financial Aid.
• Processes new hires.
• Helps offices post positions that are open.
• Oversees the Financial Aid Committee awarding students with need base aid.
• Collaborates with the Admissions office to officially register new students answering questions from parents and students.
• Gives updated and initial FERPA training to faculty/staff of SAGU AIC.
• Plans or collaborates with other staff to plan all employee meetings or gatherings.
• Creates initiatives to motivate students to complete their FAFSA.
• Sends out emails and posts on social media concerning upcoming events/scholarship dates.
• Sends required financial aid documents to SAGU’s Financial Aid.
• Sends required HR documents to SAGU’s HR department.
• Archives old HR Documents and Financial Aid documents from SAGU AIC.
• Uses the Student Information System to check Student Financial Aid status.
• Assists students in filling out their FAFSA and other necessary financial aid documents.
• Fulfills clerical needs such as filing, typing letters, faxing, scanning, and emailing all necessary documents.
• Assists student workers in hiring documents and keeping the list of student workers updated with any changes.
• Assists in processing official transcripts for SAGU AIC (related to its previous identity as American Indian College) and assisting in upkeep of old academic files.
• Update phone directory as there are employee changes.
• Completes other tasks as needed.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to the President of SAGU AIC.
Qualifications
• Faith, service and lifestyle that meets University expectations (See IPM sections: “Statement of Core Values,” “Doctrinal Statement,” “Christian Standards,” “Lifestyle Standard.”)
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Office 365. Typing and computer skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidences and to be discrete with sensitive information per FERPA guidelines.
