SAGU
Alumnus and SAGU American Indian College Admissions Counselor, Reverend Anthony Skeet, served as a keynote speaker at the 2018 Native American Fellowship (NAF) of the Assemblies of God Convocation.

The NAF is a network comprised of Assemblies of God Native American Ministers and Churches. The 2018 Convocation was held at Northpoint Bible College in Haverhill, Massachusetts in late May. Bringing together people from Alaska to New York, the event included keynote speakers for morning and evening services, as well as workshops throughout the day. Reverend Skeet taught a leadership class on Next Generation Leadership alongside workshops on Church Health, Spiritual Warfare, and Suicide Prevention.

Rev. Skeet spoke at the Thursday morning service with a message on Isaiah 43. He encouraged the church to engage the hope and power of the gospel, living beyond the experiences on of the past, pressing forward to God’s purpose for today. Skeet is passionate about the Native American church. He sees a great need for workers in the harvest—Native American pastors and church planters. He emphasizes: “We need places like SAGU AIC that train, disciple, and equip Native men and women to impact their communities with the hope of the Gospel.”

Anthony has felt the call to preach from the time he came to the Lord. He gained lots of experience in ministry at his local church, where he served as everything from janitor to Associate Pastor. While a student at SAGU, he got a solid foundation upon which to build and grow in his calling. “During my time at SAGU, I felt the Lord really solidify [my] calling and I knew that I would dedicate my life to serving Native people. As a Native American myself, my heart is for my people to know the love, hope, and power of God and for them to experience all that He has for them.”

Anthony joined the SAGU AIC Admissions Team in November of 2017, and has found it an excellent place to apply his passion and calling.

Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) American Indian College (AIC) is the nation’s only private Christian college serving primarily Native American students. Established in 1957, AIC now serves nearly 25 tribes as well as other ethnicities.
