Accounting Adjunct Faculty
SAGU American Indian College is currently taking applications for a part time (adjunct) Accounting Instructor. SAGU AIC is affiliated and in partnership with Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. We are an Assemblies of God institution and all applicants must be willing to subscribe to a statement of faith for final consideration in addition to professional and academic requirements.
Essential Functions:
o Conduct classes in accordance with established syllabi and lesson plans.
o Prepare, administer and grade assignments, quizzes and tests.
o Provide objective and subjective feedback regarding student performance.
o Maintain records of student attendance, grades, lab, and/or homework assignments.
o Advise students regarding academic matters to improve successful course completion.
o Conduct assigned courses that results in a high level of student satisfaction and course completion.
o Communicate pro-actively with campus administration regarding student issues.
o Ensure campus and college regulations and policies are known and followed.
o Maintain a healthy, secure, and safe classroom environment.
o Participate in assessment of student learning
Qualifications:
o Minimum of a Master’s degree which includes 18 graduate hours in accounting.
o A current working knowledge of all theory and practical applications for courses being taught.
o Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and through appropriate electronic media.
o Work successfully in a team environment.
o Licensure as a CPA is highly desirable.
Availability:
o Available to teach part-time (3-6 credit hours per semester as needed) during the day time.) Beginning in January 2022
