Andrea Avalos first heard about AIC in her junior year of high school.  She knew immediately this was the College God wanted her to attend.  She attended AIC from 1993-1998.  A shy, introverted girl, from the cornfields of Illinois, moving to a big city was an adjustment.  Through the AIC staff and students, Andrea was able to make the transition easily.  AIC is where her dreams for the future began, and where she was able to uncover the plan God had for her life.

This plan involved a degree in Christian Ministry.  Although her plan was to begin in full-time ministry, this was not the case.  She began working in the corporate world for different businesses, with a variety of skills obtained.  In 2009, she realized another degree was needed to continue her career.  She attended the University of Phoenix and graduated with her MBA in 2010.  She has worked in Financial Aid for the past five year; the past 4 years as a Financial Aid Quality Assurance Specialist.  She has been teaching on a part-time basis for AIC since Fall Semester of 2012.

Andrea needs her morning cup of coffee in order to function throughout the day.  She loves to read and write.  She also likes to make jewelry.  Her only child is her long-haired Chihuahua, who has been her baby for the past eight years.

She is excited to be a part of the AIC family and desires to see each student succeed in their education and spiritual lives.
